Create a very special Dahlia with unique grill paint. We sand down the raw steel grills to rough up the surface, followed by a cleaning with pure isopropyl alcohol. The grills are first coated with several coats of automotive self-etching primer. This provides a base for the paint to adhere to. Several coats of paint are applied until the surface takes on a nice thick appearance. Final coats of top clear lacquer are applied to seal the top surface. We'll choose a high gloss top coat if the color is vibrant and benefits from the sheen. If the color is more subdued, like a neutral cream or light shade of color, we'll select a classy matte top coat to match.

Custom grill paint is only available for new orders because we use a special custom-made tool to press-fit the steel grills into the cup and for this reason it's much too risky to try to remove the steel grills.
